Olivia Rodrigo and Jenna Ortega had the Disney Channel reunion of our dreams at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards. The two Disney Channel alums attended the ceremony held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on June 5 to pick up some iconic Golden Popcorn trophies — and gift everyone with the cutest interaction on stage.

ICYMI: Jenna had one nomination in the Most Frightened Performance category for her performance in Scream — which she won — while Olivia was nominated in two categories. Though she lost the award for Best Musical Moment (for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’s “Rose Song”) to Heartstopper’s “Dance With Me,” she took home the prize for Best Music Documentary for Disney+’s Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U.

When fans saw the two starlets on the red carpet, they were already excited about a potential reunion. Their wish came true when Jenna presented the award for Best Music Documentary to the SOUR singer. As “good 4 u” played inside the venue, the two friends did not hesitate to hug in a quick embrace, making fans feel all the feels.

“The pipeline of Olivia Rodrigo and Jenna Ortega going from Disney IT girls to best friends is everything,” someone wrote on Twitter sharing a clip of the two.

Of course, Jenna and Olivia go way back. The two played on-screen best friends on Disney Channel’s Bizaardvark in 2018, and judging by their MTV Movie & TV Awards interaction, it looks like they’ve reciprocated the friendship off-screen, too. The pair seems to have remained close ever since and we have a handful of recent interactions to prove it. 

As noted by PopCrave, they had dinner with fellow BFF Conan and Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli just last week, and were also seen holding hands at the 2022 Met Gala back in May.

“Everybody shut up and watch Olivia Rodrigo and Jenna Ortega go from hugging in a Disney show when they were 14 to hugging at an award show where they both won awards at 19,” a fan noted on Twitter sharing an edit of the two actors then and now.
